📋 Introduction

Welcome to Swiper ("we," "our," or "us"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring transparency about how we collect, use, and protect your information. This Privacy Policy explains our practices regarding data collection and usage when you use our mobile application.

By using Swiper, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. We do not collect, store, or transmit your personal photos or data to any external servers.

📊 Information We Collect

Photo Library Access

Swiper requires access to your device's Photo Library to function. We request read and write permissions to:

Important: All photos remain on your device. We never upload, store, transmit, or access your photos on any external server or cloud service. Your photos are processed locally on your device only.

Usage Statistics

We collect minimal usage data stored locally on your device:

This data is stored locally using iOS UserDefaults and is never transmitted to external servers.

Notifications

Swiper may request permission to send you notifications. Notifications can be local (scheduled by the app on your device) or push (delivered via Apple's Push Notification service). We use notifications to:

Data and Permissions: If you enable notifications, your device may generate a push notification token. If used, this token is a device-specific identifier for delivering push notifications and does not contain personal information. We do not include your personal photos or their contents in notifications.

You can control notification permissions at any time in your device Settings. Disabling notifications will prevent future alerts but will not affect your ability to use the app.

Analytics and Diagnostics

To help us understand app performance and improve stability and features, we use Firebase services that may collect the following types of information:

These analytics and diagnostics are used solely to monitor app performance, troubleshoot problems, and guide product improvements. We do not use this data for advertising purposes.

Subscription Information

If you purchase a Premium subscription, subscription management is handled by RevenueCat, a third-party service. RevenueCat may collect:

We do not have access to your payment information, which is processed securely through Apple's App Store.

⚙️ How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect solely for the following purposes:

We do not: Sell your data, share your information with third parties for advertising, use your photos for any purpose other than local display and deletion, or track your activity across other apps or websites.

Your Controls: Where applicable, you can manage analytics permissions in your device Settings. If we provide an in-app setting to limit analytics, it will affect future data collection but will not delete previously collected, aggregated data.

💾 Data Storage

Local Storage Only

All data collected by Swiper is stored locally on your device using iOS UserDefaults. This includes:

No Cloud Storage

We do not store any of your data on external servers or cloud services. Your photos, preferences, and usage data remain exclusively on your device.

Notification Tokens

If you opt in to push notifications, your device may generate a push notification token to enable delivery via Apple's Push Notification service (APNs). This token may be processed by our notification provider solely for the purpose of sending notifications and is not used to identify you personally. You can revoke notification permission at any time in Settings.

Third-Party Processing for Diagnostics and Analytics

While your photos and app preferences remain on your device, certain diagnostics and analytics data (such as crash reports and aggregated usage metrics) may be processed by Firebase on their servers to provide analytics and crash reporting services. This data does not include your personal photos.

Photos Remain on Device

Your photos are never uploaded or transmitted anywhere. They remain in your device's Photo Library, and when you delete photos through Swiper, they are deleted from your device's Photo Library only.

🔗 Third-Party Services

Swiper uses the following third-party services:

Firebase (Analytics, Remote Config, Crashlytics)

We use Google Firebase to help us analyze app usage, manage remote configuration, and diagnose crashes. Firebase may collect device and app information such as device model, OS version, app version, coarse location (if provided by the OS), and identifiers used for analytics and crash reporting. We do not share your personal photos with Firebase.

For more information, please review Google's Privacy Policy and the Firebase Privacy and Security documentation.

RevenueCat

We use RevenueCat to manage Premium subscriptions. RevenueCat's privacy practices are governed by their own Privacy Policy. RevenueCat may collect:

Apple App Store

Subscriptions are processed through Apple's App Store. Apple handles all payment processing and may collect payment information in accordance with their privacy policy. We do not have access to your payment details.

Apple Push Notification service (APNs)

For push notifications, we use Apple's Push Notification service (APNs). APNs uses a device-specific token to route notifications to your device. This token does not reveal your identity or the contents of your photos. Notification delivery respects your system settings and preferences.

Apple Services

As an iOS app, Swiper operates within Apple's ecosystem and may use Apple's standard services (such as iCloud for app data backup if enabled by you). This is subject to Apple's privacy policies. Analytics collection respects your device privacy settings (for example, Limit Ad Tracking and system analytics settings).
